about Mihoko Maeno-McGrath
Miho studied fashion design, sewing, pattern making and marketing at mode gakuen vocational school in Nagoya Japan for four years. Then she was employed at an apparel company as a pattern maker and designed women’s clothing for several years. After this, she opened a gallery and cafe in Nagoya, Japan. She hosted numerous creative events while selling her own designs. Tabi socks made from lace were her most popular item.
After moving to Canada, Miho continued to do alteration work. She has also been employed by and completed a work study with the costume department at The Banff Centre. She was involved in the creation of the costumes for Love Lies Bleeding, the Elton John-inspired production of Alberta Ballet. Her varied experiences have all contributed to refining her craft and expanding her creative horizons.
